Beehive opens in new location

The Beehive Salon, newly located at 123 E. Main St., Lamar, held its grand opening and ribbon cutting on Friday afternoon, April 21, 2023. Owner Danielle Todd Wilkes has been in Lamar for over 10 years. She had her previous location on Lee State Park Road. The new address has been her location since September. This has been her dream all of her life. She went to Betty Stevens School of Cosmetology and graduated in 2005. She was a Best of The Pee Dee Winner for 2019 in the Best Hair Salon category. The community of Lamar is very important to her. She began Christmas on Main, the Lamar Christmas Festival and parade to raise money for the town’s Christmas Decorations. They have raised close to $30,000 and spent it updating and maintaining the decor. She is a member of the Lamar Planning and Zoning Commission, Membber of Lamar First Baptist Church, the Lamar Beautification Committee, Neighborhood Watch a member of Lamar Dixie Youth Baseball Board of Directors, Good News Club volunteer and a County Delegate for the Darlington County GOP.
