Belva Lynn was born on March 8, 1929, in Darlington, SC to the late Ernest M. Odom and Minnie (Register) Odom.
Mrs. Comba graduated from St. John’s High School and attended Coker College, Hartsville, SC, after which she spent a total of 42 years in Customer Service and Sales within the paper industry.  Her career began in Darlington with Dixie Cup Company where she spent 20 years.  She retired in October 1987, from James River Corporation, in CT, and moved from Ridgefield to Virginia Beach with her husband, Joe.
While living in Virginia Beach, she was very active in her church, Virginia Beach United Methodist and held various offices in the Beasley Bible Class as well as the United Methodist women’s Circles.  She served on the Administrative Board of the church and volunteered her services in the church office.  She also worked with the “Urban Ministry Group” in the Potter’s House.  Belva Lynn came home to South Carolina to spend her last years at The Manor with family and long-time friends.  The Manor staff and employees were always kind and ready to take care of all her needs.  She enjoyed the food and her time with fellow residents.  She volunteered much of her time in the Mary Alice Ingram Chapel during services. One of Belva’s greatest joys in life was helping others.
