Black Creek Water Level may reach 16.3 feet!
It is possible that, with the onslaught of Hurricane Idalia, the water level in low-lying areas along Black Creek may reach over 16 feet (only about 1 foot lower than the record high). These are estimates from the United States Geological Survey and, the City of Darlington would like to make all Darlington County citizens aware of this information. For those living in these low-lying areas, please protect your valuables from water damage, monitor conditions in your area, continue to follow local news and weather reports and, be prepared to evacuate if necessary.
