Council passes budget amidst controversy
The Darlington City Council convened a Special Meeting on Friday, June 30, 2023, to pass the budget for the upcoming fiscal year, amounting to a substantial $8,511,157.43.
Two arrested for drugs, firearms
On Friday, June 23, 2023, Darlington County Sheriff’s Deputies executed a Search Warrant off Ashland Road in the Hartsville area of Darlington County and recovered nearly a half ounce of Methamphetamine and three firearms.
Knife assailant apprehended
On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, Deputies responded to a location on Weaver Street in the Darlington area of Darlington County in reference to an individual that had assaulted two individuals with a knife.
Vehicular assailant held on charges
On Sunday, June 11, 2023, Darlington County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on Ebenezer Road, in the Darlington County Area, in reference to an individual that had been run over by a vehicle.
Young Leaders in Training recognized
Fifteen young men and women received their Certificates of Completion as Leaders in Training, a program sponsored by the City of Darlington Police Department and supported by the Darlington County School District and the City of Darlington.
