Williamson Park bridge completed
There is a new bridge on the nature trail in Williamson Park! Drs. Andy and Peggy Cohen, William Hudson, and Al Britt show off the recently completed 325-foot long bridge over the wild nature trail.
Darlingtonian receives degree 40 years after entering Army
Freddie A. Lighty, Jr., formerly of Darlington, South Carolina, graduated with Latin honors, cum laude, from Atlanta Metropolitan State College in Atlanta, Georgia, on Friday, May 5, 2023.
Farmer’s Market distributes produce vouchers
The Farmer’s Market Produce Vouchers Program is sponsored by the South Carolina Department of Social Services, the South Carolina Department of Agriculture and the Darlington County Council on Aging.
Darlington installs fountain
On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, Darlington Mayor Curtis Boyd, Water/Sewer Dept. employees, some City Council members and other interested citizens gathered on Pearl Street to celebrate the installation of the new fountain on the lot near Subway.
Scott named Elk of The Year
Darlingtonian Roosevelt Scott has been named 2023 Elk of The Year by the South Carolina State Association of Elks. The 100th Anniversary Awards and Civil Liberties Banquet was held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Columbia, SC.
