City receives RIA Grant for Sewer Project

The City of Darlington will start work on the Allen Street Force Main and the Old Florence Road Gravity Sewer Project in the next few weeks. The Rural Infrastructure Authority $500,000 grant will go towards the $640,000 project. This project will replace approximately 1700 feet of 6-inch Force Main on Allen Street. Additionally, 1700 feet of 12-inch Gravity Sewer on Old Florence Road will be installed. This gravity sewer project eliminates the sewer pump station at Bowen Manor, which served Bowen Manor and Dixie Products. The City of Darlington thanks Dixie Products for its cooperation in providing the easement which made this project possible.
