Clean-up Darlington Day

On April 28, nearly 80 people got together to clean up around the City of Darlington, doing weeding, painting, planting flowers and more. This clean-up day was especially important because the first Open House Darlington will be held May 10 from 1 until 6 p.m. The volunteers worked on sites all around the town including Well’s Park, Liberty Lane, the Public Square, the courthouse grounds and several other locations.

Lisa Rock, Director of the Downtown Darlington Revitalization Association said that everyone was very pleased with the turnout and thanked all of the volunteers, especially the Darlington Garden Club who planned the event.

“We want to thank everyone who came out,” Rock said. “If you were not able to help during the clean-up or you want to see what else you can do the Great American clean-up for Darlington County will be held Saturday, May 19. That is more of a trash collection event.”
