Coker falls to Catawba in men’s, women’s soccer

The Coker University men’s soccer team dropped its match to the Catawba College Indians by a score of 2-1 April 1.

Luca Leonini‘s unassisted goal in the eighth minute would put Coker up 1-0 early over the Indians, before the Cobras would take their lead into the half.

Catawba would tie it up in the 66th minute off a penalty kick. The Indians would take the lead in the 75th minute to make the final game score 2-1.

The Coker offense would take a combined 14 shots, with nine of them on goal. Between the pipes, Guillermo Falo Ejea would record six saves and Justin Watkins would record two.

This concludes the 2021 Spring Men’s Soccer season.

The Coker University women’s soccer team fell to Catawba by a score of 1-0 in its final game of the season Apr. 1.

Meaghan Puskar notched a career-high three shots in the game, while Gabby SturlaLillia RodriguezMadelyn Becker and Hannah Chu registered one apiece. Sarah Swain grabbed 12 saves on the game.

This concludes the 2021 Spring women’s soccer season.
