DCHS receives $10,000 in grants

Darlington County Humane Society (DCHS), a non-profit organization committed to promoting the humane care of dogs and cats in Darlington County South Carolina, is honored to announce that it has received two substantial grants totaling $10,000. Banfield Foundation® and VCA Charities, both well-respected in the field of animal welfare, have each generously awarded DCHS a $5,000 grant.

The grants come at a crucial time for DCHS, which is currently over capacity with dogs and cats in need. The valuable funds will be channeled directly into meet ing critical needs of these animals, including medical care, food and shelter.

“DCHS is deeply grateful for the generous support from Banfield Foundation and VCA Charities,” said Josh Witten, Chair of the Darlington County Humane Society Board of Directors. “These grants will provide much-needed resources for the many dogs and cats in our care while on their journey to new homes. We are committed to providing a high level of care to these animals, even in challenging times. This support from Banfield Foundation and VCA Charities is a testament to that commitment. It also represents a shared belief in promoting the importance of humane care and responsible pet ownership to reduce overpopulation in our community.”

Banfield Foundation and VCA Charities are both committed to supporting animal welfare organizations across the country.
