DCSD establishes Hall of Fame
The Darlington County School District (DCSD) announces the establishment of the Darlington County School District Hall of Fame, recognizing outstanding individuals who have graduated from or worked at DCSD schools and have made significant contributions in various fields at the local, regional, national, or international levels. Applications for induction into the inaugural class of the 2023 DCSD Hall of Fame are now available.
The DCSD Hall of Fame recognizes the exceptional achievements and the profound impact made by DCSD alums in diverse areas such as academia and education, arts, athletics, business, media, public service, philanthropy, medicine, military, or science, as well as former employees who have enriched our community and played a vital role in the success of students during their tenure at DCSD.
Alums of DCSD schools become eligible seven (7) years after they graduate from a DCSD high school. Former DCSD employees and former DCSD school board members become eligible for induction two (2) years after their employment with the district or service on the Darlington County Board of Education has ended. Current elected officials (i.e., City Council members, legislators, and other political office holders) are ineligible for consideration. However, former elected officials may be nominated if they have graduated from or worked in the DCSD, meeting either criterion above.
Nominators must complete the DCSD Hall of Fame nomination form. To access the DCSD Hall of Fame nomination form and learn more about the selection process and eligibility criteria, visit the school district website at www.dcsdschools.org. The application is located under the QUICK LINKS tab. Completed applications are due by July 20, 2023. Inductees will be announced in the fall and will be recognized in a special ceremony celebrating their exceptional contributions and their lasting legacy.
