Earth Day celebration at Kalmia Gardens

Kalmia Gardens of Coker College held their annual Earth Day Festival and Duck Cup Race on Saturday, April 21. Offering many fun and educational events for kids and adults, the festival featured live music and arts and craft vendors, games and children’s activities, reptile and amphibian displays, guided biology and birding walks, and environmental information booths.

For those with green thumbs, the Darlington County Master Gardeners were on hand to sell beautiful plants and provide all the know-how needed to help them thrive. There was also a Rain Barrel Art Contest, sponsored by The Florence Darlington Stormwater Consortium, and the day was capped off by the annual Duck Cup Race fundraiser, with each racing duck available for a five dollar donation.
