Eight Hartsville High School athletes sign to participate in college sports

Hartsville High School’s Auditorium was the scene on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, as eight student athletes signed letters of intent to participate in college sports.

John Alexander signed to play Baseball with Florence-Darlington Technical Community College. Alexander was First Team All-Region Selection for Region VI AAAAS and had an impressive 8-3 record this year with a 1.06 ERA.

Doreshia McAllister signed to run Track and Field for Columbia College. McAllister is a Multi-Sports athlete for the Hartsville Red Foxes, playing volleyball and running track. She has been an All-Region selection throughout her volleyball career. She is also the school record holder in Javelin throw.

Jarek Asencio signed to run Track and Field for Columbia College. He has done multiple things on the track team at Hartsville High School. This year, he has been primarily a thrower and holds the school record in Javelin throw.

Ethan Hickey signed to run Cross Country/Track and Field at Francis Marion University. Hickey is a Multi-Sports athlete and will continue that at FMU. He is the school record holder in the team 4 x 800 Relay.

Xavion Robinson signed to play Boys Basketball at Francis Marion University. Robinson is a true testament of hard work on the court paying off. His play during the postseason helped seal the deal for his opportunity to play at FMU.

Kameron Foman signed to play Boys Basketball at South Georgia Technical College. He is also the Region VI AAAA Player of the Year.

Lily Calabrese signed to Cheerlead at Clemson University. She has cheered on Varsity for 5 years, Graduating as an IB Partial Diploma and also served as a Team Captain.

Myliondi Bess signed to Cheerlead at South Carolina State University. She is a Multi-Sport athlete, participating in Cheer and Track during her Red Fox career. She is graduating as an IB Partial Diploma and has cheered for 4 years. She has also served as Team Captain.
