On Tuesday, the Darlington Falcons and Hartsville Red Foxes Girls’ Varsity Volleyball teams clashed in the much-anticipated second and final match of their rivalry series. In their previous encounter on August 22nd, the Red Foxes clinched victory, winning all three sets by a margin of no more than four points. This marked the first game of the season and the inaugural win for their new head coach, Parker Oldham. With both teams boasting impressive records, the 2-0 Red Foxes ventured to the home turf of the 2-1 Falcons. Darlington displayed their dominance from the outset, claiming the first set 25-9 with a combination of precise serves and offensive prowess. The Falcons continued their strong performance into the second set, ultimately outlasting the Red Foxes with a 25-17 win. The third set witnessed an intense battle as the Red Foxes struggled initially but gradually regained momentum, tying the game at 16-16 after a remarkable kill by #10 Adriana Rebollar. The two teams fiercely contested each point, with the Falcons gaining a slender advantage at 27-26. Thanks to #18 Kalilyah Grant’s impressive serving, she sealed the deal with an ace, securing a 3-0 victory for Darlington and a memorable conclusion to the match. Hartsville will move on to play
