Fire at Hartsville Oil Mill

On Saturday, August 12, 2023, around 7 AM, the Darlington fire department responded to the Hartsville Oil Mill on Washington Street. Upon arrival, crews found an old brick storage building heavily involved in fire. Aerial apparatus from Hartsville and Darlington County were called upon in case of fire spread to other parts of the mill. The scene was controlled by 9 am Thanks to the hard work from all involved only 1 building was lost. The mill will not lose any manufacturing time. CONTRIBUTED PHOTO
