Florence-Darlington Technical College to honor outstanding faculty and staff

Florence-Darlington Technical College leaders will honor their 2020 Outstanding Employees of the Year Feb. 11 at the annual College Awards. The ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology (SiMT).
The annual College Awards recognizes FDTC’s three top employees, and honors Service Award winners with 10, 20 and 30 years of service. College leaders will also honor the 2020 Faculty Emeritus winners and recognize recently retired professionals.
Interim Director of K-12 Relations Angela Hayek is FDTC’s Outstanding Staff Member of the Year. Hayek oversees Dual Enrollment recruitment for the College’s Admissions Department.
Instructor of Mathematics Bob Indrihovic is the College’s Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year. Indrihovic began teaching Math at FDTC in 2005 and was Williamsburg Tech’s Educator of the Year in 2000.
Outstanding Administrator of the Year is Arthur Williamson. Williamson is the Director of Information Technology Support and Services in the College’s Information Technology Department. He just celebrated his fourth year working for FDTC.
The 2020 FDTC Outstanding Employee winners were nominated and chosen by their peers.
They will compete for statewide honors at the South Carolina Technical Education Association’s (SCTEA’s) annual conference. The SCTEA represents employees from all 16 Palmetto State technical colleges.
The FDTC Faculty Senate also honored two of their own by naming retired instructors Laura Floyd and Pat Velicky as Faculty Emeritus. Floyd retired in 2012 as an instructor of English and Math instructor Velicky’s official retirement from FDTC was in December 2019.
