Fun Day held in Lamar

A large crowd attended the 3rd Annual Fun Day in the Park, held beside Spaulding Middle School in Lamar on Saturday, July 15, 2023. The event was started by Police Chief Carl Scott, and this year, sponsored by Nucor Steel, Cartersville Country Wines, Palmetto Inflatables, the Boy Scouts, Created to Serve and the Lamar Alumni Association. Other sponsors were Darlington County First Steps, Lamar Girl Scouts Troop 1601, S.C. Voter Registration and Pee Dee Mental Health Center. There were 300 packed bookbags, donated by Nucor Steel, archery games hosted by the Boy Scouts and Hamburgers provided by Created to Serve.
