Gentle Care Adult Day Care holds ribbon cutting ceremony
The Darlington County Chamber welcomes Gentle Care Adult Day Care to the community. The day care provides a home away from home environment for those in need of supportive care during the day, which include socialization opportunities, arts and crafts, computer games, and much more.
The idea for the day care came out of a need experienced by LeAndria Savage and her family in late 2014. After her grandfather, Burnice Bristow Sr., suddenly took ill, the family discovered the struggles faced when caring for a loved one. The home care, doctor appointments, and making sure he remained social became challenging. His passion in life was to serve people and help put a smile on their face. He was a source of companionship and encouragement for the many seniors whom he delivered meals to daily while working for Meals on Wheels out of Florence. In his honor, we look forward to serving the community and providing loving, caring, and nurturing support for seniors and disabled persons as part of our Gentle Care family.
