Patty Sponseller and Debbie Spinazzola were enthusiastic about promoting pickleball, a popular sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. They proposed the construction of 10-12 pickleball courts on undeveloped land near Byerly Park. The presentation highlighted the increasing popularity of the sport and the potential benefits it could bring to the community, such as increased recreational opportunities and improved physical fitness. The City Council recognized the urgency of the situation and unanimously passed the resolution, ensuring that the necessary repairs would be carried out promptly.

In addition to the pickleball presentation and sewer system repairs, the City Council also considered a petition to rename Hartsville Regional Airport in honor of Senator Gerald Malloy.
