Hartsville Evening Lions Club seeking members

The Hartsville Evening Lions Club Branch is continuing its membership drive. They consider themselves a “small Lions Club” that is accepting more members to help them fulfill community needs in the Hartsville Community. If you have some thoughts or ideas for community Projects, please feel free to attend their meetings at the Hartsville Chamber Conference Room on 5th Street, next to the Center Theater in downtown Hartsville. They meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 5:30 pm to 6pm. To join the Evening Club, the membership is $10.00 per month, and the club focuses on Community Hunger as well as Environmental issues, Childhood Cancer, Vision and Diabetes.

Some of what we do: We received a grant for $5,000 that allowed us to partner with the Hartsville Free Medical Clinic with a focus on Diabetes Awareness. The next picture is some of our members helping out with a yearly “Blind Fishing” Event. This allows the blind to go out on boats or sit on the pier to fish. We bait hooks, help get the fish off the hooks and help serve them lunch after fishing! This is so MUCH FUN!! We place flags in the Magnolia Cemetery during Memorial Day Weekend. We sell brooms and we donate to the Prisma Children’s Cancer Hospital. And we collect gently used eyeglasses.  Plus we do so much more!! Come join the fun and help us help our community!
