Herbert White

PLANT CITY, Fla. — Herbert White, 87, of Lithia, Fla., joined the Lord on Aug. 31, 2020.
He was born Jan. 31, 1933, in Darlington to Monroe and Allean White.
He was a Korean War veteran who served 26 years in the United States Air Force.
After his military retirement, he sold insurance, worked in administration at the VA Hospital, and retired again from the U.S. Postal Service.
He will be remembered as a gem of a man with diverse interests, who was loved and intensely respected by his family and friends. He was a joy to know, and loved to greet others by saying “Merry Christmas!” no matter the time of year.
He is survived by his lifetime love, Sally B. White; son, Shawn White and fiancée Michelle Miller, and her son, A.J.(Florida); daughter and husband, Michelle and Rajpal Arulpragasam, and their daughters, Dr. Shiara Arulpragasam (Florida) and Amanda Arulpragasam and her husband Nevin Bhardwaj (Vermont); sisters, Theola Baylor (S.C.) and Allean Gray (Texas); goddaughter and her husband, Debra and Rev. Dr. Edward Boston, MD, FACOG, CAPT, MC, USN (Virginia); in-laws, Willie Mae Garrick (S.C.), Freeman and his wife Catherine Garrick (S.C.), and Osborne Garrick (S.C.); and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Due to COVID-19, a CLOSED funeral service was live-streamed on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020, at 10 a.m. This will be followed by a graveside committal and burial at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Fla. Friends and family are invited to participate via live-stream at Facebook.com/HopewellFuneral.
