International Elks officer Scott continues to serve community in the Pee Dee area

Roosevelt Scott continues to serve as an international officer for the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World (IBPOE of W).

During the organization’s recent convention held in New Orleans, Scott was elected as Three-Year Trustee.
Scott has served as a national trustee for 28 years.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this great organization that focuses on helping others,” he said.

“My local community has always been a priority to me because I know that charity starts at home first.

“I am eager to continue the important work that must be done at both the local and national level.”

Scott has been actively involved in the IBPOE of W at the local, state and national levels with a focus on increasing community involvement through annual events.

This year, Scott will co-chair the Pee Dee United Elks Lodge #1679 and Excelsior Temple #800 annual Elk’s weekend Oct. 4-6.

This year’s festivities will include a community dance, parade and a free old-fashioned lodge cookout after the parade featuring barbecue, chicken, hot dogs and games for children.

The Improved Protective Order of Elks of the World is a fraternal organization dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of children, youth, seniors, veterans and others less fortunate in our communities.

It works primarily through benevolent contributions, volunteer services and broad-based collaborative community initiatives.

It aims to assist those less fortunate in achieving their highest potential, complete their education and become positive society contributors by providing committed volunteers, national leadership and standards of excellence.
