Is Jordan out as DHS’ athletics director? School district taking job applications for his position

Darlington High School Athletics Director Michael Jordan has not publicly said he is leaving – but the county school district is taking applications for his job starting the next school year.
The district’s website is advertising a job opening for “Athletics Director – Darlington High School.”
According to the job listing, it was first posted March 22. The listing says April 27 is the closing date for applications, and says the job will be available for the 2022-23 school year.
Jordan could not immediately be reached for comment, and the school district was closed all last week for spring break.
Jordan was hired as athletics director in 2018. Before that, he was district director of athletics for the Jasper County School District.
At the time Jordan was hired, the Darlington County School District said he had more than 30 years of experience working in public school education and athletics, including as a head coach for football, track and wrestling. He served as a physical education teacher and a health teacher in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina, the DCSD said.
