Knife assailant apprehended

On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, Deputies responded to a location on Weaver Street in the Darlington area of Darlington County in reference to an individual that had assaulted two individuals with a knife. The individual barricaded himself inside the residence and would not come out. The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office S.I.R.T. Team was deployed. After a short standoff, CS Gas was administered inside the residence, and the individual came out where he was taken into custody.
Kenneth Lynn Blackburn was arrested on scene and charged with two counts of Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature.
