Lady Falcons are Lower State Bound after double-header wins over North Augusta

The Darlington High School Varsity Softball team defeated North Augusta in a upset double header Friday, May 21st. In game 1 the Lady Falcons were able to shutout the Yellow Jackets, winning 3-0. Thanks to two runs in the top of the fourth inning by Shaniya Jackson and Alayna Williamson. The Lady Falcons would later get another run in the top of the 7th by Katelyn Church. Madie Andrews pitched throwing three strikeouts in the win. After a small break the Lady Falcons and Yellow Jackets played again that evening for the District 4 Championship. After a run by the Yellow Jackets in the bottom of the 2nd the Lady Falcons answered with 3 of their own in the top of the 3rd. With Shaniya Jackson and Alayna Williamson scoring again along with Amber Rogers. Brayli Weatherford would score another run for the Lady Falcons in top of the 5th. In the top of the 6th inning a spectacle happened, Naya Jones and Madie Andrews hit back to back homeruns bringing the score to 7-1. The Yellow Jackets would get another run in the bottom of the 6th but it would not be enough as the Lady Falcons won 7-2. Madie Andrews pitched strong in the 2nd game as well throwing 7 strikeouts. The Lady Falcons are heading to lower state after winning the 2021 District 4 Championship, they will face the district 3 champions Colleton County in a best 2 out of 3 series.
