Man dies in shooting
One person is dead after a shooting in the Pee Dee early Sunday morning, according to authorities.
The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened along the 1500 block of Mystic Pines Drive in Darlington just before 1 a.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2023.
The victim was identified as 32-year-old George Scipio. According to Darlington County Coroner J. Todd Hardee, Scipio was pronounced dead on the scene.
The death has been ruled a homicide and is being investigated by the Darlington County Coroner’s office. The South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is assisting in the investigation.
