Man leads police on 4-hour chase

Last week, Darlington Police were led on a nearly four-hour chase by a man who was allegedly in violation of his probation. The suspect was wanted by the S.C. Dept. of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services, according to Darlington Police Chief James “Jimmy” Davis.

After the man fled, the Darlington Police Department led a vehicle pursuit. The chase began in Darlington and ended in the Mechanicsville area. Davis said the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office was notified when the suspect fled the city limits into the county. Later, Sheriff’s deputies had to search on foot with dogs. He was apprehended after hours of searching. There were no injuries and the suspect’s name was not released.
