Motorsport 4theMasses at Raceway

Checkered flags waved at the Darlington Raceway over the weekend as hot-footed amateurs burned off a little octane at an autocross-style event staged in the track’s spacious rear parking lot. Dozens of drivers traveled from Georgia, North Carolina, and all across the palmetto state to take part in the track day organized by Motorsport 4the Masses, aka M4theM.
“We offer entry level motorsports opportunities for people where they can drive their own car,” says M4theM owner Rob Bolling. “In an autocross event, we lay out about 150 cones in an obstacle course and people drive around it to see who can do it the fastest. Speeds usually range around 50 to 60 miles an hour, so it’s safe and there’s nothing to hit but a rubber cone.”
The weekend event began with a driver training day on Saturday and live lap racing kicked off Sunday morning. Bolling says they’re planning a return to Darlington in August, if conditions allow.
