One dead, one injured in automobile collision
Tragedy struck in Darlington County on Friday when a collision between a car and an SUV claimed one life and left another individual hospitalized. The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m., as reported by Lance Cpl. Lena Butler of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The mishap unfolded as a 2003 Buick LeSabre, traveling east on S.C. 151, attempted to make a left turn onto U.S. 15. In a devastating turn of events, a westbound 2018 Toyota Highlander collided with the Buick.
The Buick’s driver was promptly transported to a hospital, while a passenger from the same vehicle had to be airlifted to another medical facility. Tragically, the passenger succumbed to their injuries. Regrettably, further updates on the Buick driver’s condition remain unavailable.
Thankfully, the Toyota’s sole occupant emerged from the incident unscathed, and there were no other reported injuries. This somber incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of cautious driving and road safety.
