Quilts of Valor given to veterans

A special Quilts of Valor ceremony was held at First Church of God, 620 N. Main St., in Darlington. A Quilt of Valor® (QOV) is a quality, handmade quilt that is machine or hand quilted. It is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war. The recipients (shown here) were Henry King (Retired, U.S. Marines), John Tyner (Retired, U.S. Navy), Henry Humphries (Retired, U.S. Army), Frankie Hubbard (Retired, U.S. Army), Gene Hubbard (Retired, U.S. Navy), Johnny Odom (Retired, U.S. Army), and Gene “Droopy” Clifton (retired U.S. Army).
