SC author shares terrifying tales

Join the Friends of the Darlington Library Friday, October 13th at 6pm for a spine-chilling evening with award-winning South Carolina author, storyteller, and ghost hunter, Tally Johnson. The event will be held at the Darlington Library, 204 N. Main Street, Darlington. Tally will be sharing original ghost stories told in classic southern gothic style. Tally is the author of several books on South Carolina ghosts including, Ghosts of the South Carolina Upcountry (2005), Ghosts of the South Carolina Midlands (2007), and Ghosts of the Pee Dee (2009), and Civil War Ghosts of South Carolina (2020). This free event is sponsored by the non-profit organization, the Friends of the Darlington Library. This 501c3 organization is committed to providing enriching library programs and materials for the citizens of Darlington and beyond. “The Friends” would like you to know they are actively seeking new members. If you would like to join an organization that gives back to the Darlington community in a way that has real impact, stop by the Darlington Library at 204 North Main Street in Darlington to fill out a friends membership form. Annual dues start at $10 per year. “We are very excited to partner with Tally for this special Halloween event and hope it inspires new library users!” says Friends president Kisha Gurley. She encourages everyone to stick around after the ghost stories for a campfire s’mores reception to follow in the children’s garden. The recommended age for this event is 12 and up.
