Friday, Feb. 25, the Trinity Titans boys and girls varsity basketball teams played First Baptist and Augusta Christian in the 3A Semifinal SCISA championship playoff at the Sumter Civic Center in Sumter.
Varsity Girls:
The Lady Titans started off strongly against First Baptist after a 16-to-12-point lead in the first quarter. The Lady Titans continued their lead into the second quarter and by halftime, the Titans still had a lead over First Baptist. As the game continued, the Lady Titans saw First Baptist push harder scoring more and more. By the end of the game, the Trinity Collegiate Lady Titans had lost their place in the SCISA 3A State Championship with a 67 to 64 loss against First Baptist.
Varsity Boys:
Shortly after the Lady Titans played, the boys varsity went against Augusta Christian to earn their place in the SCISA 3A State Championship. The Titans fought hard against the Eagles staying neck to neck through the game. The Titans appeared to be the favorable team until a moment where Trinity just couldn’t score, and the Eagles took the lead. Shortly after, the boys fell short 58-54 and were out of the semifinals.
