The Darlington Police Department recently announced a significant breakthrough in their investigation into a disturbing July stabbing incident. Two individuals, Mikah Paul Mills and Tyonne Shanice Brown, are now in custody, facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, and kidnapping. The incident occurred on July 11 in the 200 block of Woods Street, leaving a victim with serious injuries and shaken by the traumatic ordeal.

In the early hours of July 11, the police were dispatched to the 200 block of Woods Street following a distress call from a concerned citizen. The caller informed officers that a man with bloodied hands had sought refuge, claiming someone was trying to kill him. Responding quickly, the officers found the victim lying in a truck parked in the backyard of the residence.

The victim had suffered numerous cuts, and his arms and legs were covered in blood. He recounted to the investigators that he had been attacked by two individuals inside an apartment on East Broad Street. Apparently, he had gone to retrieve a bag he had left in a woman’s apartment when he was ambushed by assailants whose identities remained unknown at the time.

According to the victim’s statement and evidence gathered by the police, the assailants not only viciously attacked him but also demanded money. They forcibly transferred a substantial amount of $7368 to Tyonne Shanice Brown’s cash app account during the ordeal, suggesting a premeditated and organized crime.

Despite the torment he faced, the victim demonstrated resilience and managed to escape from his captors. While fleeing, the perpetrators took shots at him, but miraculously, none of the bullets found their mark.

The Darlington Police Department took swift action and launched a thorough investigation into the case. The relentless efforts of the law enforcement officers culminated in the arrest of Tyonne Shanice Brown on July 18. A week later, on a Monday, Mikah Paul Mills was also apprehended, completing the primary suspects’ capture.

Both Brown and Mills were charged with attempted murder, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, and kidnapping. Given the severity of their alleged crimes, they were denied bail and are presently detained in the Darlington County Detention Center, awaiting further legal proceedings.
