Two DHS student athletes sign with FD Tech

Darlington High School student athlete Katelyn Church (seated at center) signed to play softball with Florence-Darlington Technical College. Katelyn was 4 years old when she first started playing ball. She had taken dance for a year and, when her mother signed her up for T-ball, she fell in love. She is the daughter of Rita Church and John Garan. Katelyn said, “I just want to be successful.” She starts at Florence-Darlington Technical College this fall and plans to study Radiology. Darlington High School student athlete Shemar Sines (seated at center) signed to play baseball with Florence-Darlington Technical College. Shemar was 4 years old when he first wanted to play baseball. “Everybody in my family played,” Shemar said. His mother, Kenya Simes and his uncle, Briane George, were on hand to witness him signing.
