Wildman Catfish Tournament draws large crowd

The Wildman Catfish Tournament was held at the Pee Dee River Landing in Society Hill on Saturday, June 17, 2023. With a guaranteed payout of cash to the winners, the stakes were high and the competition fierce. Cash awards were $500 for the Winner, $300 for Second Place and $200 for Third Place. Entry fee was only $25 per person. 

First Place Winner was Hunter Webb, with an 18.6 lb. catch. Second Place Winner was Chad Rowe, with a 15.66 lb. catch. Third Place went to Robbie Short, with a 15.16 lb. catch. The smallest fish caught was one of .14 lbs and 5.6 inches long, by Jeremy Broach. There were 85 entries in the tournament and a large group of friends and families attended. In addition, Brady Hill of Society Hill gave away several expensive high-powered rifles and a huge amount of fishing gear as well.
